Dr Stephen J. Eustace studied science at University College Dublin, where he graduated with first class honors in majoring in chemistry and mathematics minor. Later he obtained his PhD also from UCD graduating in 1995 with the thesis “Keto-Enol/Imine-Enamine Tautomerisation of Heterocyclic Ketones: Acid, Base, Metal Ion Catalysis”.

After a 5 years as a postdoctoral researcher, Stephen embarked on a career as an industrial chemist for a period of 16 years. It is this combination of scientific knowledge, and a no-nonsense pragmatic and analytical approach to science that Stephen applies to his every day approach to NMR challenges. Besides the daily support of the needs of fellow researchers, Stephen will test performances made by NMR manufacturers as well as making new methods of 1D and 2D NMR accessible to students and researchers alike.
