Effect of transient radiation in a two-dimensional elastic system

Summary. The uniform motion of a constant load along a semi-infinite membrane on an elastic foundation is considered. The membrane is fixed along one side and the load crosses the fixation line under an angle. It is shown that the transition radiation of elastic waves occurs as the load moves near the fixation line. The shape and the velocity of the membrane at the moment when the load crosses the fixation are found. The expression for the spectral-angular density of the radiation energy is obtained and analyzed.
